Our Mission Statement
About The Cecil County School of Technology

The mission of The Cecil County School of Technology is to provide Cecil County Public School students with Career and Technology Education programs which will provide them with relevant learning experiences and competitive skills that will prepare them for the ever-changing global workforce.
The Office of Career and Technology Education provides the direction, leadership, and technical assistance to all Technology Education programs in Cecil County's high schools and School of Technology. Career and Technology Education is "value-added" education. Many CTE programs help students obtain industry-recognized articulated credits. Students have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning experiences to learn on the job in addition to learning in the classroom.
The Paul Thomas Devine Legacy Technology Education Fund provides The Cecil County School of Technology with scholarships for graduating students. These scholarships aim to help students pay for certifications, purchase tools for their specific trade, pay for application fees, and fund any training required for a new job in their field.
While Paul Devine had already retired before the opening of The new Cecil County School for Technology, he was kept abreast of all plans by his wife, Dr. D’Ette Devine, who was Superintendent of Cecil County Public Schools. Dr. Devine succeeded in having the county purchase, renovate and equip this new School of Technology. She oversaw the opening of the school and was instrumental in every step from inception to completion. Dr. Devine was championed by her husband Paul as he watched from the sidelines as their vision came to fruition in 2015.
Paul's past work within the school system and D'Ette's role as Superintendent were both crucial in helping to pave the way for the school's planning, opening and continued success. It was a shared goal of a couple bonded by education which was finally realised as a real brick and mortar institution that would help to educate so many.
